President’s Message

Hello and Happy New Year!

Susan Karnstedt

Susan Karnstedt
President, SV-IABC

As the Silicon Valley’s newly elected chapter President, I knew we were off to a great start when I received my first call about the waiting list for internal communications director Peter Vogt’s January 11 presentation. I couldn’t help but think: a WAITING LIST for one of OUR events…this is BIG!” (Unfortunately, the caller did not share my excitement.)

Peter drew a ‘standing room only’ crowd of over 75 people as he shared the eBay approach to engaging employees in the business. Those in attendance can attest – Peter certainly didn’t disappoint.

This is only the first in a series of outstanding monthly events planned for ’07. Based on feedback from our annual member survey, we will be hosting more programs at corporate venues and updating our chapter website to increase relevance and usability. You may have also noticed that we’ve given our newsletter a facelift to make it easier to access content. And we are pleased to announce that we have formalized a partnership with PRSA to provide even greater access to resources and create additional opportunities for networking.

While these changes are incremental, our ultimate goal is to increase the value SV-IABC provides its members. If you have any specific feedback that will assist us in the process, please don’t hesitate to let me know at susan@karnstedt.net.
